Southeast Asia Regional Sales Director, HEI Schools

HEI Schools is a leading research-based education company from Finland, offering unique Finland-inspired education concepts under HEI Schools brand to private school and kindergarten operators and education organizations around the world.

To accelerate our growth in Southeast Asia, we are looking for a Regional Sales Director based in the region (preferably in Malaysia, Thailand or Singapore, but other locations are considered also). This is a permanent and full-time position, starting as soon as possible but negotiable.  

HEI Schools is headquartered in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. HEI Schools has been on a growth path since its founding and has customers in over 50 countries. The first HEI Schools branded kindergarten started operating in 2017 and today there are more than 20 HEI Schools kindergartens around the world. HEI Schools brand is well-recognized in our main markets: Southeast Asia, Middle East and Australia. We also cooperate with two universities in Malaysia and over 2000 teachers around the world use HEI Schools curriculum and materials. 

As Regional Sales Director, you will be driving sales growth and business development in Southeast Asia. This role requires ability to work independently as you will be our only team member based in the region. You will be developing and executing the sales strategy for the region in collaboration with the CEO and Finland-based sales team, but also doing hands-on sales work, both with large and smaller prospects. You will be prospecting and networking to create sales opportunities, but also working with inbound prospects generated by our marketing team. You will be networking with real estate developers, embassies and universities in order to align all stakeholders and to create sales opportunities. Your market insights and customer knowledge will tie into business and product development done at HQ level, to ensure HEI Schools remain competitive and attractive in the market. This role requires regular travel in the region.

In this role, you will be:
  • Driving sales in Southeast Asia from prospected and inbound leads
  • Analyzing regional market dynamics to maximize existing successes and creating new sales growth opportunities
  • Preparing forecasts, growth plans and reports
  • Responsible for business development with the HQ team to ensure HEI Schools remains competitive and attractive in the market
  • Networking with real estate developers, embassies, operators and university partners
  • Educating the HQ team on significant industry factors including competitive products, regulations, trends, customer needs and pricing
  • Reporting to the CEO
To succeed in the role, you bring: 
  • 10+ years of international work experience on B2B sales manager / director level. Experience in education sector is a plus 
  • A Master's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (eg. in business or similar)
  • Fluent written and spoken English. Skills in Thai, Bahasa Malay, Bahasa Indonesia or Mandarin are a plus.
  • This role requires regular traveling in the region and ca. 2-4 times per year to Finland
